Founded in March of 2000, research and development was started on a portable drinking water treatment system using ozone to disinfect and treat surface waters.
During three years of development many prototypes were rigorously tested on many different types of waters in varied locations and situations, such as outfitters' camps, mining exploration installations and private cottages.
During these tests the system demonstrated an excellent treatment capacity for all types of freshwater; its performance was validated by strictly controlled test protocols followed by in-house and independent laboratory tests. Water treated meets bacteriological standards issued by the government of Canada, the United States and the European Union.
Innovative and effective, the system developed is called Expio, which means to purify in Latin. Expio is manufactured at our facilities in Clermont, Quebec.
